Would you like to increase your research’s visibility, and would you like to monitor your research impact?

Have you come across the terms ‘Open Access’, ‘Journal Impact Factor’, APC or h-index but are unsure how it relates to your research?

This half-day course will take you on an introductory tour of central concepts related to research visibility and impact before and after publishing.

The course will also take a deeper dive into RUC relevant tools, that can help you increase your research visibility and outreach, and monitor your impact. Such as:
• Optimizing researcher-profiles/IDs - specifically in RUC’s Pure
• Paths and benefits of Open Access publishing
• Impact- and indexing factors when choosing a publication channel - specifically journals
• Key concepts (and pitfalls) of bibliometric evaluation + useful tools for monitoring impact

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of the course, it is expected that participants will be able to:
• Manage your researcher profile in Pure
• Apply knowledge about Open Access in your publishing process
• Use impact factors and indexing when choosing a publication channel
• Utilize bibliometric key tools responsibly

Form and duration
3 hours workshop. The course will be a mixture of theory and hands-on exercises.

Target Group
The course is aimed at early-career researchers, but anyone with the wish to gain insight into the mentioned subjects is welcome.

Teaching Language
The default language of instruction is English; however, the workshop can be conducted in Danish if all participants prefer. Group work can be carried out in both English and Danish, ensuring a comfortable and inclusive learning environment.
