AI in literature search In-Person
This workshop is designed to introduce researchers and PhD students to some useful AI tools that are shaping the future of academic research practice and show how these tools can be used in a systematic literature search.
In the workshop we will explore the joining of AI and traditional research methods, focusing on key aspects like exploring relevant keywords for constructing search strings. This workshop is designed to equip researchers and PhD students with advanced AI tools such as Research Rabbit as well as more commonly available tools like Chat GPT, Bing-Chat, in order to excel in literature search, while maintaining a critical mindset and academic integrity. We will discuss how to nurture a critical mindset and approach to AI in literature search, ensuring the quality and relevance of sources.
Learning Objectives
- Discuss the role of AI in literature searches.
- Craft keywords to construct search strings.
- Apply AI powered research tools in literature searches.
- Apply reference management, when referring to and citing Ai generated material.
- Reflect on the use of AI while maintaining academic integrity.
Format and duration
The workshop spans 2 hours and combines presentations with hands-on exercises. During the exercises, participants are encouraged to work with their own research materials, providing a practical and tailored learning experience. Expect 3 hours preparation.
Target Group
This workshop is designed for researchers and PhD students who seek to enhance their literature review skills. To facilitate interactive learning, the workshop is limited to a maximum of 15 participants.
Teaching Language
The default language of instruction is English; however, the workshop can be conducted in Danish if all participants prefer. Group work can be carried out in both English and Danish, ensuring a comfortable and inclusive learning environment.
